MEP & MP visit to John Holdsworth & Co Ltd

The MP for Halifax Mrs Alice Mahon and Yorkshire West Euro MP Dr Barry Seal
toured the new weaving and finishing facility at Shaw Lodge Mills, Halifax.

Shaw Lodge Mills is owned by John Holdsworth & Co Ltd, which exports more than 80 percent of its production worldwide.

Mrs Mahon presented the firm with a plaque, given to her on a recent parliamentary visit to Portugal, to commemorate the export links between the UK and Portugal.

"During my trip to Portugal it emerged that John Holdsworth & Co Ltd supplied the bus company that I was travelling with. This is why I decided to present the plaque to the company to mark its achievements which have put Halifax on the world map as a centre of excellence," she said.
