Employees of John Holdsworth & Co Ltd, Halifax, celebrated the firm's 150th anniversary at a buffet and dance held at Halifax Civic Theatre on Saturday.
About 500 people attended and guests included the Mayor and Mayoress of Halifax, Ald. Maurice Jagger, JP and Mrs Jagger, and Mr Norman Ashton, president of Halifax and District Chamber of Commerce, and Mrs Ashton. The Mayor congratulated the firm on its achievement and the chairman of the company, Mrs Dina Maria Holdsworth replied.
One of the firm's weavers, Mr Ronnie Tordoff, spoke on behalf of the workpeople, and flowers were presented to Mrs Holdsworth and the Mayoress by Mrs Audrey Harker, a member of the staff.
