'Flint' - round tummy and short legs at Poachers Hideaway, Flintwood Farm, Lincs 24 July 2009	Why Flint? because we stayed at Flintwood Farm, Lincs, when my master bought me. The surrounding area, and East Anglia is famous for its Flint (or flintstone) - a hard, sedimentary cryptocrystalline form of the mineral quartz, usually coloured dark grey or black, used in architecture. More about Flint:- Flint was used for the manufacture of flint tools during the Stone Age. When struck against steel, a flint edge will produce sparks to ignite a fire or gunpowder as used in flintlocks. Famous Flints:- Captain Flint, captain of a Pirate ship, the Walrus, in the Robert Louis Stevenson novel Treasure Island. Marcus Flint, Harry Potter character and Slytherin Quidditch Chaser and Captain, five years above Harry. Derek Flint, Our Man Flint (1966) and In Like Flint (1967), a "hipster spy" played by James Coburn. Flint Marko, Sandman (Marvel Comics), ally of Spider-Man with the ability to turn himself into sand.
